Donor Profiles
JVS offers donors many opportunities for involvement and engagement and with their support, everything is possible!

Stanley A. Dashew
“I’ve been a supporter of JVS for many years and have always taken a particular interest in the agency's work with the disabled, which is why I endowed JVS’ Assessment Center. The critical employment services they provide to people in our community are needed now more than ever. In addition to the endowment, I also chose to include a provision in my Estate Plan for JVS because I feel it’s important to ensure that the next generation can continue to help those in need.”
-Entrepreneur, inventor and philanthropist Stanley A. Dashew
Pearle Rae and Mark Levey
A long time donor and JVS Board member, Pearle Rae is deeply involved in the work of the JVS Scholarship Fund. "I love the idea that the students write to me. With other projects that I'm involved in, you never get to see the results firsthand." Along with her husband Mark, she helped their scholarship student Ryan Abelowitz complete his dental studies.

Donald T. Sterling
Donald T. Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, was first introduced to JVS’ work when he was invited to Co-Chair the 2007 Strictly Business L.A. Luncheon. Said Sterling, "Not only is JVS doing important work in our city, especially with their programs for at- risk youth, they also understand the critical partnership between the corporate and non-profit communities.” Since then, he has donated hundreds of Clippers tickets to JVS’ at-risk youth programs and recently pledged $50,000 through the Donald T. Sterling Charitable Foundation.
Larry and Joyce & Debbie and Rick Powell
Two generations of the Powell Family were honored with the agency's prestigious Lifetime of Service Award at JVS' 2010 Gala, where they also announced their gifts as founding donors to the JVS Legacy Society. A two-term JVS Board President, Rick and his father Larry remain active as leaders on the Board. While Joyce remains deeply committed to the JVS Scholarship Fund, Debbie has dedicated herself to the expansion of the WoMentoring program, establishing a highly successful donor support group, the WoMentoring Leadership Network. Setting the bar for family philanthropy and hands-on involvement, the Powell Family truly lives by their motto: Whatever It Takes!
